Based in Karlstad, the studio was founded by game developers Victor Ulhagen and Joakim Karlberg, who brings experience from Mirage Game Studios working on titles such as Little Big Workshop and Space for Sale. With the new investment, the studio takes an important next step on its journey to build and develop new games from Värmland. Their debut game ‘Bad Slime’ won Best Demo at The Great Summer Pitch 2025 and the seed money from the investment will help them get the game across the finish line.

– Getting an investment let us expand the team with crucial skills and in turn create a better product. It's a complete game changer for us, says Victor Ulhagen, CEO at Perfect Potion

The investment marks another milestone for the growing games industry in Värmland. Perfect Potion Games follows Krufs Productions and Noodleloop, which were the first two studios to receive backing from the seed fund and participating in TGJ's accelerator program The Great Catapult. The fund was created to help promising indie studios to take the difficult step from early development to building sustainable companies and bringing their games to market. For game developers, access to early-stage funding can be crucial, as several years of development may be required before a studio has a finished product or generates significant revenue.  – Great to see Perfect Potion get funding and a strength of the local industry to attract talent and money. This is a focused effort to get investors hyped about what we are doing in Värmland, says Patrick Standfast, CEO at The Great Journey. Perfect Potion Games is now part of a growing community of studios in Karlstad and Värmland that are building new games, companies, and careers in the region. With three investments now made through the seed fund, the momentum continues.

We are looking for more ambitious game studios seeking funding and support to take the next step. Apply to The Great Catapult on our website or get in touch with us at info@thegreatjourney.se if you have any questions.
