new seed fund for local indie game studios

Great news for indie game studios in Värmland and companies looking to establish in the region, a new seed fund has been launched together with our new accelerator program!

This initiative, led by The Great Journey together with local investors, is designed to help new studios get started and established ones grow even further.

“It’s really exciting that there’s now capital available to develop innovative games and build sustainable companies in Värmland,” says Patrick Standfast from The Great Journey.

☀️ Indie teams will now have the chance to apply for funding to develop demos, launch new titles, and in the long run build sustainable companies. 

☀️ The fund also comes with business development and coaching with our new accelerator program The Great Catapult as well as connections to investors and publishers, doubling the value for studios that get involved.

This is a big step forward for the local games industry and an exciting opportunity for ambitious creators looking to take their projects and companies to the next level!  The Great Journey’s long-term goal is to build a thriving game industry in Värmland - supporting local studios through business development, funding, and co-working spaces.

In the first phase, a handful of game studios will receive funding, and the aim is to attract additional investors to join in. The seed fund is backed by a group of investors from Värmland.
