Leadership, inspiration and facilitation with a BIG dash of the games industry!

Is your next step to create a more equal, sustainable and inclusive video game industry?

Great ours too!

The role has two focuses:

As the Community Manager, you’ll build and develop our community, today around 350+ members, 10+ indie game studios and multiple teams on their way to realise their dreams. You are not afraid to start or jump into Discord-calls, structure activities and be the voice of the community to the rest of the team.

The other focus is events. We host different events (both on and offsite) that are open for both our community and the industry, our biggest being Friday Stories; a talk + Q&A session with industry thought leaders from DICE, Star Stable Entertainment, Iron gate studio among the speakers!

Here we are starting up season 3 this fall and are looking for a host! A person who are comfortable streaming and facilitating the events with support of your new colleagues.

The role involves:

  • Responsible for engaging and growing our community.

  • Feel comfortable in social situations (online and offline).

  • Be our ear to the ground - listen in on how the community is feeling, what they are experiencing and what we can do to support it.

  • Be able to extract insights from the community and use them to support the project.

  • Pick up newly formed development teams and take them to the next level of starting their own studio.

  • Feel comfortable planning, hosting and executing external events (for example Friday Stories) together with the team.

Here at the great journey we want to be the change

We are working towards a more inclusive and sustainable game industry and we believe we have a great opportunity to do that here in Värmland. The gaming industry is still young here, but we are growing fast!

We are backed by Embracer Group, Europe's biggest video game holding company (HQ here in Karlstad!) with titles like Goat Simulator, the Boarderlands-series and the latest hit Valheim

To grow our own game developer talents we have a partnership with Changemaker Educations and Futuregames to educate the game devs and UX-designers of tomorrow!

We work hard to create a more inclusive and diverse game industry by;

  •  Focus our talks on different topics like how accessibility and inclusive design can create better games

  • We work to bring in speakers with different backgrounds, gender identities etc.

  • Starting up our own initiative called TGJ Ink (coming soon) to create a safe space for everyone

  • Working together with initiative like GameDev Force to create network opportunities

We are still growing and welcome new initiatives to further develop a healthier, safer and more open video game industry.

Be part of a more safe

games industry!
